Periods and reusables: a father, husband, male carer perspective

An odd thing happened, and a man joined my chat group. I didn’t quite know what to do, the group was obviously described as “For those who have periods” and I could see he had a wife and daughter who he was obviously the prime carer for.

But it wasn’t the intention of my group and it’s actually a struggle to get women to chat in the group as it is. However the idea dawned on me that there must be more men than him in a similar situation who could benefit from a support group, so I suggested he set one up.

And low and behold he took the extremely brave step and did it!

And here it is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/169836492020953

If you are a male relative looking to understand period pants and these new trends it’s a fantastic place to start. And we should all be proud of this man as a husband/father. Proud of men who care for wives and daughters down to every last detail when they aren't capable of manging this themselves. And here is a place they can have a voice, and a community, and support.

Please encourage the men in your lives to join, we could all benefit from a little more learning and a little more sharing of experiences and perspectives.
